10 Mistakes WWE Has Already Made With RETRIBUTION
6. The Masks And Costumes
Masks can work well, even in the current WWE product. However, the masks that WWE decided to use for RETRIBUTION really don't work for a modern wrestling product. The issue with the design is that they are trying to hard to be intimidating. They look overproduced and therefore... fake.
That's ignoring the fact that they very much look plastic, particularly T-Bar's Bane meets Mad Max abomination. The most infuriating problem with the masks is that they are completely unnecessary. The performers in the ring can get over on their own without being surrounded by all of these meaningless facades.
Comparing RETRIBUTION with other current wrestling factions, it seems that the look simply doesn't hold up. Take The Dark Order for instance. Their look is uniform and there is hierarchy designated by the masks. The masks are basic Lucha masks but they still give off a sense of order and intimidation.
RETRIBUTION doesn't have this kind of order. They have random masks and random costumes with no sense of logic behind the design. There is nothing deep about the ring gear and that makes the act basic and surface level.
