10 Modern WWE Moments You Totally Don't Remember

5. Riddick Moss Goes Over Ricochet On RAW

This felt so much like a burial that Ricochet must have committed some sort of backstage transgression.

The Brock Lesnar slaughter was one thing, but there was a cruel (though rather unnecessary) logic to it: exciting midcard act you like is made to look like giant a**hole via plucky, starry-eyed promos > is annihilated > bigger, better babyface swoops in to fell the monster. A story better served by a Barry Horowitz figure in the supporting role, and not an elite global talent, but you could see what they were driving at.

Altogether more inexplicable was the decision to book Riddick Moss to go over Ricochet on the March 2 RAW.

Moss had been introduced to storylines as Mojo Rawley's 'Offensive Linesman', in another Remember When, before turning on his pal as so many have before in order to claim a 24/7 Championship that bizarrely functions in WWE as the one ring. Incredibly, Ricochet failed to win a title that has thus far been captured by Alundra Blayze, Marshmello, and Santa Claus.

"Let it play out," the WWE fan says, years and years from now.

"If he's putting over Shane McMahon's kid, that means he's really well-regarded, actually."
