Jaw-dropping tales from a life lived like few others were always destined to continue long after his demise, but André The Giant's 2018 HBO documentary pleasingly brought about a host of new stories on the industry icon a quarter of a century on from his passing.

It fell, naturally, to fellow curator of wrestling apocrypha Ric Flair to drop a bombshell bit of banter as jaw-dropping as explosive as the contents of The Giant's a*se when the remains of the cutting room floor were being reviewed after the fact.

Director Jason Hehir told The Wrap a tale from the 'Nature Boy' that went from funny to fatal in the time it'd ordinarily take 'Slick Ric' to slip his trousers off in a hotel bar. That, too, was naturally where this all began.

On the p*ss near the beach, things went south amongst the wrestlers after Blackjack Mulligan took a potshot at The Giant. Hehir, via Flair, explained the rest. "This legendary story that Flair was there for - André grabs Mulligan and one other guy, Dusty Rhodes maybe or someone, and drags them out onto the shore and starts drowning both of them. "And Flair had to come out and break up the fight. And then André just turned around, walked in and sat down and started drinking again.”

Famed for his outstanding cardio, Flair fought through abject terror and the physical trial to save the lives and collected sanities of his boozed up brethren.
