10 More Wrestling Hoaxes That Fooled The Internet
From Saudi-bound stars, to 5-Star Punk returns, these moments made fools of the Internet.
It doesn't matter whether you've been deeply immersed in the wrestling world for decades or have just stopped by to board the Road to WrestleMania hype train, just about every fan on the planet loves getting to grips with a cheeky rumour or piece of wrasslin' gossip.
And while there are a number of rather reliable sources out there to follow should you want your slice of behind-the-scenes information to be as accurate as humanly possible, it's only natural that a few of those intriguing or eye-catching revelations aren't going to be worth the paper or keyboard keys they're written on.
But because so many of these seemingly unlikely wrestling rumours, teases, and leaks have a habit of actually coming to fruition in the end, fans have made an unfortunate habit out of falling for some of the more implausible stories that trickle onto the old Inter-web.
From wrestling megastars fooling folks into believing their return is right behind the curtain, to fans unleashing hell after supposedly being scammed by an Architect, this lot prove that you're right to not trust that devilish beast known as the Internet...
10. Becky Lynch Is Behind The Curtain
Disappearing from the WWE and social media sphere entirely as she embarked on her new journey as The Mom, the sheer lack of Becky Lynch content to consume for the majority of 2020 left The Man's fans simply desperate to know precisely when and where their beloved Lasskicker would be returning.
And on the night of the 2021 Royal Rumble, it finally looked as though they had their answer as the cheeky Irish sensation tweeted out a photo of the Gorilla Position's unmistakable red curtain, used by many a star making their way into an arena.
Of course, Lynch wouldn't actually make her return until the summer, but that still didn't stop WWE themselves from getting in on the swerve, retweeting the star's photo with a "Does this mean what we think it means?!?" caption.

Hilariously, Lynch would ultimately follow this up by teasing that she just thought it was "a really nice picture of a curtain", but would double down on these cheeky teases until her eventual SummerSlam comeback, unleashing similarly brilliant Instagram nuggets in the lead-up to WrestleMania 37 and Money in the Bank.
And you'd be lying if even a small part of you didn't invest in Becky's potential re-emergence from the second they dropped online...
