At WrestleMania X-Seven, one of WWE’s most highly-regarded events, Triple H and The Undertaker fought a wild, scrappy brawl the quickly spilled into the crowd, and ended with an Undertaker victory. They’d cross paths again over the years, but in 2011, a year after ‘Taker had ended Shawn Michaels’ career, their personal disdain reached an all-time high.

The Game was out for revenge for his fallen ally, but things didn’t exactly go as planned. Triple H battered The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVII, but it wasn’t enough, and a rare slip saw him trapped in ‘Taker’s Hell’s Gate submission for the loss.

The Deadman wasn’t satisfied, however, and issued countless rematch challenges throughout 2012. Triple H had beaten him to the point where he couldn’t leave ‘Mania 27 on his own accord, and that just wasn't gonna stand.

Though he initially refused, Triple H caved when ‘Taker taunted him by saying he was never as good as Michaels, and with Shawn himself as referee, The Undertaker and Triple concluded their rivalry inside Hell in a Cell.

It wasn’t the all-time classic HIAC that Triple H would have you believe, but it was a hot rivalry, and Michaels’ involvement only amplified the intrigue. ‘Taker ultimately finished Hunter off by smashing him with his own sledgehammer and ending with a Tombstone, and as the dust settled, he and Michaels helped Helmsley up the ramp to a standing ovation.
