2. Kurt Angle

Nothing says legit like an Olympic gold medal. That's exactly what Kurt Angle has that no one else in WWE can lay claim to. Kurt won the honor in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia - and shortly thereafter was offered a lucrative contract to join the World Wrestling Federation. Kurt believed in himself, maybe a little too much for the world of professional wrestling.

During initial contract negotiations, Angle was so high on himself that he outright told Vince McMahon and the rest of WWF brass that he would never be able to lose to another wrestler because of his illustrious amateur career. A couple years later (and a couple hundred thousand dollars lighter), Angle signed a contract with the company and, in 1999, debuted for the WWF.

It didn't take long for Kurt to catch on to the business; he's often (and correctly) credited as being the quickest rookie to ever grasp the art form.

Angle's in-ring work was second-to-none and his intensity (plus, intelligence and integrity of course) was so well accepted by audiences that he won every major singles title within his first 12 months in the WWF.
