6. A Grand Corporate Plan Comes To Fruition To Screw Stone Cold - Mankind, Survivor Series 1998
It took a small army to boot Stone Cold Steve Austin from the 'Deadly Game' WWE Title tournament during the creative highlight of Vince Russo's WWE tenure, but Mankind's list of accomplices was in fact one shorter on the night than it was supposed to be.
It ultimately took Shane McMahon's shocking turn on Austin followed by run-ins from Vince McMahon, Pat Patterson and a chair-wielding Gerald Brisco to finish Stone Cold on a clueless Mick Foley's behalf, but corporate security guard The Big Boss Man was the man originally pencilled in as the final assailant.
Completely missing his cue (and the opportunity to aid the Corporate lot), Boss Man was nowhere to be found, leaving Brisco to delicately strike Austin with a chair. Still a pawn in McMahon's game, Foley - now a tournament finalist - was none the wiser, just as he'd not be in his grand finale with The Rock later in the show...
