10 Most CRINGE Things Wrestling Fans Always Say
4. "Wrestler X Should Leave Company Y IMMEDIATELY!"
To clarify: No, Asuka has not requested her release.
The above photo was whipped up by one of WhatCulture's talented editors shortly after WrestleMania 39, when rumours started circulating that Asuka was unhappy in the WWE. This storyline ended up having the lifespan of a mayfly in an electric blender, as Asuka quickly put the matter to bed in succinct fashion by tweeting "Is this world full of lies? Or is it full of s**t?"
As well as showing that the WWE is ?????? missing a trick by not letting Asuka speak her mind more on camera, the whole fiasco made it clear that we need to stop demanding wrestlers leave their place of work the second things don't look good for them.
We have no idea what's going on in our favourite wrestlers' lives, and it's not our place to tell them where to ply their trade. Look at Kevin Owens - 18 months ago, wrestling fans were imploring him to quit the WWE and join his old friends in AEW. Instead, KO signed a multi-million dollar deal with the WWE and, a year later, became an integral part of one of the greatest moments in WrestleMania history.
As an Asuka fan, this writer understands the frustration of a company underutilizing your favourite wrestler. But if they're happy where they are, then we should be happy for them as well.
