10 Most Dangerous Wrestling Finishers Ever

6. Tombstone Piledriver

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fGroJC4Z7s There's a reason that WWE will only permit certain performers to do the tombstone piledriver these days. Guys like Undertaker, Kane and Triple H are respected veterans who are trusted to do the move safely and correctly. WWE would under no circumstances let a guy fresh out of NXT perform the move, and for good reason. Piledrivers in general are dangerous, but the tombstone is one of the riskiest variations. The wrestler completing the move needs to have a firm grip on the person taking it, whilst also making sure their head is in the right place (right around the giver's crotch). The person taking the move has to be sure they also have a tight grip on the giver and that their head is in the correct place. Timining is everything on the tombstone and it is also imperetive that the person doing the move drops to their knees (the safer option) and not to their backside. Steve Austin momentarily lost feeling in his body and eventually had to retire due to injuries sustained when Owen Hart carelessly dropped him on his head with the sit-down version of the move at SummerSlam 1997. Ironically, Ausitn himself had injured Japanese wrestler Masahiro Chono in an almost identical situation during a 1992 tour. Chono suffered a broken neck and had to drastically change his ring style in the aftermath.
