10 Most Dangerous Wrestling Finishers Ever

5. Burning Hammer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AfaATYmbpQ The 90s Kings Road All-Japan Pro Wrestling style was characterised by unrelentingly stiff strikes and dangerous head-droppy moves like Kenta Kobashi's Burning Hammer, an inverted death valley driver that was sometimes applied with a wrist-clutch. It was one of many revolutionary, spine-jarring moves to come from the mind of Kobashi. He rarely used it, instead saving it for special occasions like big title defences. In fact, according to the above video, Kobashi only used the move a grand total of seven times. The rest of the time, he would use either a lariat or a moonsault (before doing so completely eroded his knees) to finish off his foes. The burning hammer is not a move you can do every night. It is the angle from which Kobashi drops his opponents that makes it dangerous. It is basically up to the person receiving it to make sure they land safely and protect themselves. Thankfully, nobody was ever seriously injured while taking the move. Tyler Reks (remember him?) used a safer version of the move in WWE, before John Cena blew up at him due to its supposed similarity to the FU/AA.
