10 Most Dangerous WWE SmackDown Spots In History
8. Benoit's Crashing Headbutt
Two blood-curdling spots on this list come from TLC III, the SmackDown sequel to WrestleMania X-Seven's car crash tag team titles match, which featured all of the original cast plus the team of Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit.
The first of them came pretty early in the bout, when Benoit, spotting that Matt Hardy had helpfully decided to take a nap on a table perched outside the ring, climbed to the top turnbuckle for a monstrous diving headbutt.
Unfortunately for him, Matt was playing possum. The future Woken One rolled off the table in the nick of time, with Benoit in turn crashing through the table and smashing hard on the thinly-padded floor below.
We see wrestlers take falls to the outside of the ring fairly regularly these days, but generally they land on their side, with arms stretched out to break their fall. Here, however, Benoit makes no attempt to rotate his body, instead hitting front first into the ground.
