Retrospect has made the staged wedding between 'Macho Man' Randy Savage and his beloved Miss. Elizabeth a sad story. Both lovers have since passed away, but that only makes it all the more important they were able to share this moment of love and happiness at SummerSlam 1991.

A wrestling pay-per-view headlined by a wedding? It happened. Most impressively, nobody complained at the time either, such was the affection for a reunion between the formerly estranged bride and groom to be. People were bawling their eyes out watching this ceremony, then incensed when Jake Roberts crashed the party.

There hasn't been a more touching moment at any SummerSlam card yet. Although Savage and Liz had been married in real life since 1985, they had been apart on WWF TV for a few years. Seeing them exchange vows in an elaborate celebration (followed by a cruel twist) was drama at its best.
