10 Most Glaringly Obvious WCW Pushes That Never Happened

2. Mick Foley

Looking back over Mick Foley's near 3-year stay in WCW between 1991-1994, it becomes obvious that the man was eager to prove exactly what he had to offer. Putting his body through hell would become somewhat of a hallmark for the man, but even though he was given the chance to tangle with top stars such as Sting and Vader, Cactus Jack wasn't in WCW's plans as a main eventer. By his own admission, Foley has never been particularly athletic, and it seems his overall look served to work against him, as WCW looked to push others before him. When it became clear that the likes of Hulk Hogan were about to land in the company, the writing was on the wall for the guy, who would - fittingly - be out on his ear shortly thereafter. From there, Foley made a splash with his promos in ECW, and then joined the WWF as Mankind in 1996. In 1999, as Mankind, Foley captured the WWF Heavyweight Title, and had already established himself as one of the most daring, popular performers under contract. WCW's loss was definitely Vince McMahon's gain.
