10 Most Hated WWE PPV Main Events Ever

2. Diesel Vs. Mabel - SummerSlam 1995

When Mabel won the 1995 King of the Ring tournament, hardcore fans were outraged. Most expected one of the talented stars in the competition - like The Undertaker or Shawn Michaels - to come away with the win, continuing the trend started by Bret and Owen Hart. Instead, the win went to a star who had little to offer apart from his size.

Following the King of the Ring tournament, Mabel emerged as the number one contender to Diesel, who was one of the worst WWE Champions of all time. Their match - rock-bottom champion versus rock-bottom challenger - was doomed to be a failure, and it turned into one of the most disappointing PPV main events of all time.

The whole thing was a mere 9:14 long, but it felt like it took up way more time. Not only was the match awful, but fans expecting a run-in from Davey Boy Smith - who had recently turned heel by attacking Diesel - were instead treated to one from Lex Luger. Luger looked to be helping Diesel, but a distrustful WWE Champion attacked him before turning back to Mabel and finishing him off with a clothesline. It was a mess.
