10 Most Influential British Wrestlers Ever (According To An American)

1. William Regal

Although he didn't have the headline careers of names like Mick McManus or Big Daddy, it's hard to deny that Regal has been, and continues to be, an incredibly influential force in wrestling.

The WWE loves to tout that Shawn Michaels trained Daniel Bryan, but Bryan has gone on record saying that William Regal was a defining force in his career, not HBK. That's just one career among dozens across many promotions that has been brightened and sharpened thanks to the influence of William Regal.

But you can make the case that no company has profited more from Regal's efforts than WWE, the world's flagship promotion. Between the wrestlers he has worked with AND those he has identified and vouched for during his time as a talent scout, Regal has helped shape the company immeasurably. He will no doubt continue to do so when HHH (eventually) takes over operations, as he is a trusted right-hand man in NXT already.

He's shaping the future of wrestling as we speak.
