9. Triple H
When one thinks of the toughest wrestlers in the industry, they are not typically inclined to bring up Triple H's name. Yet, one look at his career suggests he is far tougher, both mentally and physically, than given credit for. Everyone knows the story of his torn quadriceps and how it took him eight months to come back, culminating with an Undisputed WWE Championship victory at WrestleMania X-8. What all-too-often is forgotten is the fact that he continued the match in which the injury occurred, competing several minutes and enduring an insanely painful Walls of Jericho on top of the announce table. Yeah, Walls of Jericho. You know, the LEG-BASED SUBMISSION HOLD. He would tear another quad some six years later and, again, did as much as he possible could to gut through it before the referee called for the bell. Add that to a graphic gash suffered in the Street Fight for the WWE Championship against Mick Foley at the 2000 Royal Rumble and you have a guy who has never left any doubt in the minds of fans or critics that he is among the toughest Superstars to ever lace a pair of boots. And all of that does not take into account how mentally tough he had to have been to endure the punishment he suffered at the hands of Vince McMahon for his participation in the notorious Curtain Call that took place inside Madison Square Garden in 1996. He was left to take the brunt of the backlash, jobbed out and left for dead as the CEO sent a message to the boys in the locker room. But he never got down, he never let it affect his quality of work. He fought through it and proved his toughness in a way that had nothing to do with physicality. He was smart, resilient and determined and he proved it. Like him or hate him, The Game absolutely belongs on this list.
