Has the WWE heard the fans? Dean Ambrose is arguably the most talented, charismatic guy to come out of The Shield. He could be something of a Steve Austin/Mick Foley hybrid, always on the edge, ready to go to the extremes. There's a lot to love about his character, and he's probably more capable on the mic than both Rollins and Reigns. Even if you don't agree with that, he's got enough support that he has found himself in a fatal four way at Payback for the title, so clearly someone is paying attention. It would be shocking to see Ambrose win the title then. He could do it, but his feud with Rollins needs to be a long one. It needs to be drawn out, and as brutal and bloody as the WWE will allow in this PG era. So rather than have anything shocking happen at Payback, set something up. A long term Payoff where Ambrose eventually takes what Rollins holds most dear: his title. For the WWE the logic here is simple: fans are ready to get behind Ambrose, and there's a ton of background material to mine between him and Rollins.
