10 Most Likely WWE Royal Rumble 2018 Winners

8. Baron Corbin

Of all the long shots to win the Royal Rumble, SmackDown's Baron Corbin is perhaps the one for whom you can currently make the most persuasive case (not that we're saying there's anything more than a fleeting chance of this becoming a reality).

Having the Lone Wolf claim victory on January 28 would mean the opportunity to right the wrongs of his failed push from back in the summer, where he followed up his potentially career-making Money in the Bank win by butting heads with his backstage superiors - and then getting unceremoniously robbed of his resulting title match.

It also makes a little bit of sense in terms of the plans for WrestleMania. AJ Styles probably needs a heel opponent at the Show of Shows, and neither Kevin Owens nor Sami Zayn - both of whom are set to face him in a handicap bout at the Rumble itself - appear particularly likely at this stage.

The only thing that works against him is the fact that he currently lacks the legitimacy associated with a World Title match at 'Mania, owing to the humiliating way in which he was beaten by Jinder Mahal in August. If he does win the Rumble, WWE has a hell of a job in trying to convince fans he's ready in time for April 8.
