10 Most METAL Wrestlers Of All Time

9. Aleister Black

Aleister Black
WWE

Remember Aleister Black? You know, Dutch guy, quietly charismatic, lots of tattoos, liable to kick an opponent's head off? Likes to sit down? Yeah, that guy! Aleister Black should be an absolute megastar by now, not someone still waiting for a televised match in 2021, or a win on TV in any form since July 2020. In fact, I need to go to Wikipedia to confirm which brand Black is on. SmackDown, for the record.

Ignoring the diabolical booking of Black, the man himself represents one of the most metal aesthetic in pro wrestling history, accentuated by some seriously heavy entrance music. Black himself is a noted metal fan, often appearing in metal magazines and interviews whenever WWE dips its toes into the festival world.

The sooner Aleister Black is back on WWE television, the better. Or maybe, the sooner he can get out of his contract, the better. Either way, this most metal of superstars is a glaring omission from the world of professional wrestling in 2021, a true indictment of WWE's creative processes. Sure, he changed his entrance music, but you can't win them all.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
