10 Most Mind-Boggling Releases WWE Just Announced

7. Eva Marie

When WWE announced they had re-signed Eva Marie, fans wondered if it was a misprint or an April Fool’s joke, especially after the company had released women such as Mickie James, the IIconics and Chelsea Green. WWE then produced a series of vignettes proclaiming the Eva-lution was coming.

What followed was a confusing and dismal return with Eva partnering with Piper Niven, now rechristened Doudrop. The team almost immediately had friction and fell apart after just a few short months. Eva Marie was written off TV at the end of September, and WWE apparently decided to cut bait.

What makes this mind-boggling is that WWE actually acknowledged their failing here, that Eva Marie wasn’t cutting it. You would’ve expected them to stubbornly keep her around as an influencer with some (alleged) mainstream appeal.
