6. Oney Lorcan

When you think about wrestlers who embody Triple H’s image of NXT, Oney Lorcan has to be one of the top guys that comes to mind.

An awkward-looking guy, Lorcan wasn’t flashy by any standard, but he is a solid wrestler and an outstanding brawler. His work in a second-tier tag team with Danny Birch was a highlight during the black-and-gold brand’s heyday.

Even though he clearly was being shunted down the card upon NXT 2.0’s relaunch, Lorcan still had plenty to offer as a veteran presence, a guy who could be a gatekeeper of sorts for young superstars. Imagine Oney tangling with one of the Creed Brothers, or Von Wagner, or Bron Breakker. Those would have been fun matches and great learning experiences for the newcomers.

But apparently, that doesn’t fit the vision for the new NXT.
