9. He Hates Vince Russo
The Legend: That Goldberg hates former WWF, WCW and TNA writer Vince Russo.
The Evidence: Goldberg and Russo worked together when Russo left the WWF and joined WCW in October 1999. Russo, whose penchant for crash TV was more of a hit with some wrestlers than others, was the person who decided that Goldberg should suffer his first pinfall loss, ending his unbeaten streak. Russo says in his book, Rope Opera: How WCW Killed Vince Russo, that Goldberg was unapproachable, unprofessional and was basically trying when told he would have to lose. When this was brought up to Goldberg by a twitter user Goldberg said that he wouldn't waste his time reading the book and that he 'wanted to kill' Russo during his time in WCW. Goldberg dispelled rumours of him joining TNA in 2008, sighting low financial offers and having to work with Russo again as the reason. Here's what Goldberg had to say about Russo:
I just didn't like his philosophy period...I can't really put a finger on what I didn't like, I just didn't like the guy, and that's my God-given right...Let's be honest...to go and take a huge cut in salary to go work for a guy like Vince Russo and at the time to be wrestling in front of 1500-2000 people, I don't foresee that as the logical option for me to take.
Is It True: Yup. Goldberg's made no secret of the fact that he doesn't like Russo in recent years. He's not alone: there are lots of people in the business who despise Russo and would love to punch him in the face. After all, this is the guy that made David Arquette World Heavyweight Champion.
