10 Most Notorious Goldberg Urban Legends

10. The Real Streak Number

The Legend: Just what is the real number of 'The Streak'? The Evidence: Goldberg debuted with a bang in WCW, defeating Hugh Morris in a very quick match on the September 22nd 1997 Nitro. Form there, Goldberg tore through the competition, beating everyone he stepped into the ring with (mostly enhancement and midcard guys) on teleivision, house shows and PPV. According to the storyline, Goldberg went 173 matches without being pinned or made to submit. He suffered his first loss on December 27th, 1998 at Starrcade, losing to Kevin Nash following a cattle prod attack from Scott Hall. Some online have said that the 173 number was inflated (shocking, right?) to make Goldberg seem more impressive and that the real number is somewhere around the 140 mark. What's The Real Number: Who knows? Trying to come up with a real figure is a logistical nightmare. We might as well accept the 173 number that has been kayfabed into wrestling history. Here's hoping that Goldberg thanked each and every one of the selfless superstars who laid down for him and helped him to become the superstar that he is today.
