10 Most Over-HATED Wrestlers In The World Right Now
6. Charlotte Flair
Valid criticisms of Charlotte Flair include her oft inconsistent work between the ropes, which can veer from brilliant to sloppy and half-hearted on a week-to-week basis, and her conduct ahead of and during last year's belt exchange segment with Becky Lynch. Seemingly sparking genuine resentment between two former best friends, that situation was a mess that most would likely prefer to leave in the past.
But discussion of Charlotte and her place in the game often goes far beyond these earnest, well-meaning criticisms. Her situation is similar to Roman Reigns' before he turned heel in that Flair is often portrayed as a corporate avatar whose success comes at the cost of everybody else on the roster. WWE push Charlotte at all costs, is the argument, which is why she has enjoyed a staggering 16 individual title reigns (singles and tag team) since first winning the NXT Women's Championship in May 2014.
There are grains of truth to this, as there were with Reigns. Flair has absolutely defeated people she shouldn't have defeated in WWE, her push inadvertently stifling others who were primed to rise, serving as a roadblock. This resentment is often misplaced, though. Charlotte Flair isn't pushing Charlotte Flair: WWE is pushing Charlotte Flair. Such complaints should therefore be forwarded to Stamford, not the Queen City.
