10 Most Over-Pushed WWE Stars Ever
4. Bobby Lashley
Bobby Lashley didn't actually win the world title during his time under Vince McMahon's employ, to be fair (just the bastardised WWE ECW belt, which doesn't count), but we as fans all sensed that he was being readied as the company's next John Cena during the early part of 2007.
They pushed Lashley to such an extent that he became the chief antagonist of the WWE chairman, a spot that has typically been the preserve of industry-making stars like Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold and Shawn Michaels (and Hornswoggle).
Lashley's excursions in TNA, alongside an impressive MMA career, proves - albeit belatedly - that the company were right to see in him star potential, but his rapid rise in WWE had the ring of something fans just didn't want to see again.
