10 Most Overrated "Classic" Matches In Wrestling History

6. Triple H Vs. The Undertaker (WrestleMania XXVIII)

The Undertaker’s two late career WrestleMania matches with Shawn Michaels are a hugely important part of both wrestlers’ legacies. Regardless of whether you prefer their first or second bout, both are rightly regarded as some of the best work of their respective careers, with the ‘Mania 26 contest acting as the perfect conclusion to HBK’s phenomenal WWE run.

‘Taker followed these bouts by wrestling Michaels’ best friend, Triple H, on consecutive WrestleManias. Both matches were entertaining, but not quite at the same level as the Michaels bouts, and frankly, it felt like ‘The Game’ was just trying to outdo his former partner throughout. It didn’t work, and while clearly very good, their ‘Mania XXVIII match is one of the most overrated in the event’s history.

Featuring Michaels as a special guest referee, it effectively became a handicap match at various points prior to The Undertaker's eventual victory. It suffered greatly from Triple H’s attempts at out-wrestling Michaels, and while full of interesting moments, the time between the high spots often became a joyless slog.

Late-career Triple H just doesn’t do the “epic match” blueprint particularly well, and here’s the evidence.
