10 Most Pointless WWE Title Wins

1. Cesaro & Sheamus Defeat The New Day

The New Day's record-setting tag team title reign had to end, but hindsight has already highlighted how poorly timed the switch was, less than four months after the change.

Despite a sensational false tag finish from the enemies-to-friends pairing, the crowd reaction to the change more reflected the shock of the loss for Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods than any great love for Sheamus and Cesaro.

In defence of the performers, they had worked diligently to get themselves over in a best-of-seven series that ended in a 3-3 draw, and as partners that knew each other inside out, the uneasy alliance made sense.

However, New Day were barely over the line as record-holders, and the death of their reign highlighted how little creative attention had needed paying to the incredibly popular act with titles over their shoulders.

Since losing the titles, New Day have been fringe players on Monday Night Raw, and have been gifted a 'host' position at WrestleMania in place of an actual angle or a demeaning placement in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal.

Meanwhile, the Raw Tag Team Titles lasted just over a month with their new owners before changing hands in a match so prestigious that it only made the Royal Rumble pre-show.
