3. Kylie Rae "Debuts" On Main Event
This was very unlike WWE and very, very weird.
Kylie Rae can work circles around most women's wrestlers on the North American scene, but sadly, as a result of struggles with substance abuse and mental health, she has - thus far - been unable to mount a consistent run in a major.
An eminently likeable presence and crafty babyface worker, she shone in the very primitive stages of AEW's women's division - she was one of the most well-received acts at the seminal first Double Or Nothing show - before mysteriously vanishing under circumstances that have never come to light.
Beyond that ultra-brief 2019 spell, Kylie has mostly and sporadically worked the indie circuit, but has popped up in Impact Wrestling and even New Japan Pro Wrestling's US arm. She also (as Briana Ray) did a job to Dana Brooke on the December 15, 2022 edition of Main Event in what was purportedly an unsuccessful tryout.
She doesn't fit the profile of a WWE hire - she's 30 and lacks a high-level collegiate athletic background - but mechanically, she looked miles beyond the low NXT standard and did well to establish her trap-setting faux-babyface heel act.
She would be great value in the gatekeeper role, at a minimum, but WWE it would seem only has use for Zoey Stark and Natalya in that slot.
