Throughout his 20-year career in WWE, Bret fought for some serious causes, whether it was for the honour of his parents against Jerry 'The King' Lawler, or for patriotic pride as the leader of The Hart Foundation against rabid US fans, Bret was a man who wasn't afraid to shed blood and sweat in exchange for guts and glory. And in 1995, Bret was booked to fight over a leather jacket. Carl Ouellet, renamed Jean-Pierre LaFitte and presented to WWF crowds as a dastardly pirate, would go around stealing objects from fans and opponents without punishment. But when he put his hands on Bret's iconic pink and black leather jacket, sh*t got real. Bret threw some nasty insults at the eye patch-wearing thief, including "Ya big dummy!" and "You nasty thief!" before they were finally locked on a collision course which would culminate at In Your House 3. Before heading into the arena, Bret cut a pun-laden promo about how he was "Captain Crunch" and was going to make LaFitte "walk the plank", before reminding the audience at home about the gravity of the situation. With a burning intensity, Bret let the fans know that "Pierre LaFitte thinks it's a small thing to steal my jacket, but it's not. A jacket is...a jacket." Bret won, and reclaimed his beloved jacket in what he now refers to as "maybe the lamest storyline in my pro wrestling career". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_Ve5J68cwY
