1. Al Snow
Before relaunching his career in ECW, Allen Sarven was known as Leif Cassidy in the WWF. First, he was known as Avatar and Shinobi, before becoming part of The New Rockers alongside Marty Jannetty. When all of those characters failed, he simply became a lower mid card heel. Returning to ECW in 1997, he resumed using his old ring name, Al Snow. Things were never the same for the man, because he tweaked the persona to include schizophrenia. Forming a relationship with a mannequin head, simply called 'Head', Snow would write the words 'Help Me' on his forehead backwards. The character proved itself to be wildly successful, so much so that the WWF became interested in signing Sarven once more in 1998. Al Snow remains one of the most interesting gimmicks to ever come out of the original ECW promotion. Wrestling fans turned the guise into a popular babyface gimmick, willingly screaming along that they wanted 'Head'. As far back as in ECW, fans were bringing their own mannequin heads to events, waving them gleefully any time Snow wandered down to the ring for a match.
