When it was finally announced that Sting was signing with WWE, there was one match everyone wanted to see - "The Icon of WCW" versus The Undertaker. Fans had already been talking about it for years, and surely now it would become a reality.

Instead, it was Triple H who shoehorned himself into Sting's first feud, one which was built on the fallacy that the two men had played equal roles for their organizations during the Attitude Era and that fans wanted to see them fight. Their WrestleMania bout was all smoke and mirrors, filled with interference and gimmicks. In the end, Triple H won, shocking and frustrating the audience who came to see Sting's WWE debut match.

That wasn't all for HHH that evening, though. He also came out later in the show with Stephanie McMahon for a segment that saw "The Authority" argue in the ring with The Rock and Ronda Rousey. This was supposed to build to some sort of series of matches for the following year, but it didn't come to past - meaning that fans were simply left with a show that featured an hour of Triple H.
