10 Most Shocking Kick Outs In WWE History
6. Kane - WrestleMania XIV
During The Undertaker's tenure as kingpin of WrestleMania, his run as undefeated, undead superman was unrivalled. As such, his finisher was presented as one of the most devastating moves in the history of pro wrestling.
Few moves have ever been as protected as the Tombstone. Almost invariably, whenever 'Taker hit the move, it spelt lights out for his opposition. From King Kong Bundy and Jake Roberts to Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart, nobody kicked out of the Tombstone. That is, until 'Taker he squared off with Kane at WrestleMania XIV. In the epic "brother vs. brother" collision, The Undertaker looked to seal his brother's fate, like so many before him, with a Tombstone Piledriver. Incredibly, it took three separate deliveries of the move to count Kane out. What's more, the sheer size of Kane also made these Tombstones particularly cringe-inducing, as Kane's neck looked to legitimately crash into the mat on each occasion.
Only a handful of men have ever kicked out since - an exclusive club of nine, also featuring Batista, Edge, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns - making the feat an instant "OMG" pop whenever the rare situation occurred.
As the first man to do so, Kane takes a special spot in history.
