10 Most Shocking Kick Outs In WWE History

7. John Cena - New Year's Revolution 2006

Edge's run with the 'Money in the Bank' briefcase in 2005 was an interesting time for the 'Rated R Superstar'. On the cusp of becoming a headliner, Edge had spent much of the year feuding with big name talent such as Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit and Kane, as well as a worked-shoot angle with the returning Matt Hardy. By the time 2006 had arrived, Edge was on fire.

More importantly, Edge was also still in possession of the 'Money in the Bank' briefcase going into New Year's Revolution in January. In a shocking occurrence, Edge finally cashed in his WWE Championship match against John Cena after the Elimination Chamber main event.

Marching to the ring with intent and purpose, Edge was the fresh man and Cena was a bloodied, sitting duck. The bell rang and, just under two minutes later, Edge was champion for the very first time... but not before Cena had kicked out of the spear first.

In what seemed like a miscommunication, Edge nailed the champ with his finishing move and referee, Mike Chioda, counted the three, yet Cena clearly kicked out. An awe-struck crowd watched on stunned, while Edge readied himself to hit the spear once again to secure victory.
