10 Most Shocking Kick Outs In WWE History
4. Brock Lesnar - WrestleMania XIX
When Brock Lesnar ascended the turnbuckles in the closing moments of WrestleMania XIX, the crowd looked on in anticipation of the spectacular sight they were about to witness. Little did they know just how spectacular it would be.
Fans of Lesnar knew what was coming. Rumours had circulated for some time that Lesnar was indeed capable of the Shooting Star Press, and there was no better time to unveil it than in the main event of WrestleMania.
With Lesnar's opponent, Kurt Angle, lying prone in the ring, Lesnar looked to finish off his adversary once and for all. However, Angle's positioning seemed noticeably far away - over half the way across the ring - and it would take a serious leap to make the distance.
One split second of hesitation proved to be catastrophic and left Lesnar under-rotated on the jump, causing his 295lbs frame to come crashing down on his neck. With the planned finish out the window, the botched landing left Angle scrambling to pick up the pieces.
In an attempt to either finish the match if Lesnar was injured or buy time if he could continue, Angle covered his downed opponent. Miraculously, the challenger's instincts willed him to kick out and the match continued, even if Lesnar's cognitive function had momentarily faltered.
