3. Vince Turns Stone Cold Steve Austin Heel - WrestleMania 17
WWE's biggest feud of all time has to be Stone Cold versus Vince McMahon. The rivalry was everything that fans had ever wanted to see; it was the rise of the blue collar hero fighting against the corporate machine that held him down for so long. This was not about a pro wrestler as much as it was about just a regular guy that was tired of being kept in his place. Steve Austin was that regular guy and as he grew in popularity, so too did the need to showcase him in the best way possible. Hence the epic feud against Vince McMahon, a feud that brought many new fans to the table and entertained the ones that were already there. This was central casting and it absolutely was huge for WWE. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wM8kNZfv3cU All of that came to an end at WrestleMania 17, when Vince McMahon came down to the ring during Austin's WWE title match with The Rock. The People's Champ was defending the belt and was trying to fight off the threat of Austin but got more than he bargained for when Vince actually helped Stone Cold win the match. It's a moment frozen in time, one that fans are still talking about to this day. While Austin's heel run may not have been well received by the masses, the truth is that the turn itself remains one of the most shocking moments in WWE history. The fact that a McMahon was at the center of it is not a surprise at all.
