10 Most Shocking Things WWE Have Done In 2018 (So Far)
6. New Day's E(lite)3 Showdown
WWE aren't usually known for promoting talent from other companies, unless of course they have a working agreement with them. So when they posted about The New Day's gaming battle with New Japan's The Elite at E3, no-one was quite sure what it meant.
No, it didn't take place within the ring, which makes it an even bigger story to see WWE acknowledging it.
The rivalry between the two trios began in 2016, as Omega and Woods clashed on Street Fighter at that year's CEO event. Since the spat started, it's gotten more personal to the point that Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were impersonating New Day during their entrance.
Considering New Japan's Dominion show took place days before the E3 showdown, the likelihood is that WWE looked to gain traction generated by the buzz coming out of the event. News has emerged recently that WWE are planning a raid of Japanese talent, but don't join the dots here: The Elite are going nowhere, for now.
