10 Most Shocking Things WWE Have Done In 2018 (So Far)

5. The Ultimate Deletion

Matt Hardy reinvented his career with his 'Broken' persona in Impact. A number of new characteristics came with the gimmick, as did special 'Deletion' matches.

Alongside Impact's producers, namely Jeremy Borash, the matches - if you want to call them that - went down as a huge success, no matter how insanely absurd they may have been. So when Matt, alongside brother Jeff, returned to WWE at WrestleMania 34, the main question was whether or not the character would come with him.

The answer was of course, yes - eventually.

The inaugural WWE-promoted contest was titled 'The Ultimate Deletion', and saw Hardy going up against then-rival and current tag team partner Bray Wyatt. Madness from start to finish, but it just didn't feel as big as those done in Impact. Even with Borash involved, there's still more that could have been done during the battle.

There's always next time though...
