Evan Bournes last television appearance was on a Jan 2012 episode of RAW. Following that show he was suspended for 60 days due to his second Wellness Policy violation, and subsequently badly injured himself in a car accident in March of that year. After a year of rehab and recovery, Bourne returned to the ring at an NXT Live Event in March 2013, and it was thought a return to the main roster was in his future. A year later, Evan Bourne was shockingly released, having never returned to TV following his second Wellness violation suspension in January 2012. Its absolutely crazy to think a guy as gifted as Evan Bourne, couldnt make it back to TV for two years before quietly being released. Many people will agree that Evan Bourne probably should have found himself back on the main roster before he was let go. He is a dynamic in ring talent that could have contributed in many ways; one being a possible reuniting of Air Boom during a time where WWE needed more tag teams. If not the Main Roster, he could have been utilized on NXT in the same way that Tyson Kidd was for most of 2014. Instead he was let go. Maybe it was because he was on his last strike, or maybe it was because the WWE didnt think hed be the same after breaking his foot so badly in a car accident, but regardless of how they came to the decision, they might have blown it. Evan Bourne returned to ROH as Matt Sydal and looks as good as ever. He is moving around just fine, is in phenomenal shape, can still fly and has managed to add a little rugged handsomeness to his look with a beard and a new hairstyle. This guy could have been a highflying heartthrob upon his return to Raw, and maybe he still can be at some point in the future. His release was unexpected, but at the end of the day its great to see him back in a ring after such a long absence, regardless the promotion.
