10 Most Stacked Cards In UFC History
5. UFC 196 (2016)
Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz I obviously sticks out as the top attraction when recalling the epic night of fighting that was UFC 196. Yet, it's sometimes forgotten that the main card on that night also boasted two other monumental match-ups.
Earlier in the night, eventual G.O.A.T. contender Amanda Nunes and current Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko crossed swords for the very first time in a Bantamweight contest. Shevchenko had only lost once (to Liz Carmouche) before this event. However, by the time future Bantamweight/Featherweight Champion Nunes was finished with her, she'd doubled her MMA loss record.
Our co-main event then saw Holly Holm and Miesha Tate battle over the former's recently won Bantamweight strap - taken from Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. Tate eventually became the new Bantamweight Champion thanks to a technical submission victory, after choking Holm unconscious in the fifth and final round of their back and forth encounter.
These two fantastic female frenzies undoubtedly set the stage for Diaz' star-making performance against 'Notorious' in the main event. Diaz completely shocked the world in the highly anticipated grudge match and tapped out the poster boy in the second round with a rear-naked choke.
When all was said and done, few could argue that we'd clearly seen one of the most stacked main cards in modern UFC history.
