9. Eugene & Wrestler Of Your Choosing Vs. Tyson Tomko & Rob Conway - Taboo Tuesday

Chad Gable Shane McMahon
WWE Network

The experimental interactive midweek pay-per-view - those words in sequence somehow didn't nuke the stock price - asked the paying audience to select Eugene's partner in his match against bland bruiser Tomko and Randy Newman aficionado and Buff Bagwell cosplayer Rob Conway.

This was batsh*t before the mystery partner revealed himself. It was a difficult choice. Put yourself in the mind of a 2004 loyalist who hadn't yet been suffocated by nostalgia.

Do you pick...

A) Nostalgia act who can still draw a call-and-response, in Jim Duggan?

B) Nostalgia act who never lost his animated presence, in Kamala?

C) Nostalgia act who, while once known for his high-flying skills, could only execute his offence in 2004 if Vince McMahon personally marched him to the top rope, in Jimmy Snuka?

Erm.

The fans selected Superfly, who at least looked more mobile than he would five years later, and he made the hot tag after the usual heel gets outsmarted, furiously punishes intellectually disabled man for the heat Eugene formula.

Snuka at the finish of a mercifully short encounter did actually execute the splash. There is evidence of it taking place.
