Despite the heaps and heaps of love that got poured on The New Age Outlaws during the Attitude Era - and to some extent, still does - they were never a great in-ring tag team. They had great chemistry, and Billy Gunn could pull off a terrific in-ring performance if the circumstances were just right, but it is almost painful to re-watch a lot of their matches.

Luckily for them, two hardcore icons by the names of Terry Funk and Mick Foley had recently joined forces to help the newly-minted Outlaws get over in a big way.

They brought out the gleefully vicious side of Road Dogg and Billy Gunn, which was exhibited in its purest form at when they trapped Funk and Foley in a dumpster and pushed it off the stage on Raw. That single act - and the resulting chaos that left fans wondering if the two had been seriously injured - directly led to their ascension as a tag team and a Dumpster Match at WrestleMania XIV.

The down-and-dirty cage match the next night was even better, with the Outlaws legitimately crucifying Funk on the wall of the cage while they - and their soon-to-be cohorts in DX - dismantled Foley.

All in all, these guys put on a savage series of matches that, for some reason, most fans of the Attitude Era have largely forgotten.
