3. Bad News Barrett vs. Dolph Ziggler - Intercontinental Championship (Raw; June 23, 2014)
Bad News Barrett was an excellent Intercontinental champion. He defended his title against all comers and contested great matches with each of his challengers. It's a shame he suffered an injury at the time that he did because he was really catching fire when he got hurt. But before he was forced to vacate the title, Barrett had one last exceptional title defense against Dolph Ziggler on the June 23 edition of Raw. Ziggler beat him in non-title action three days prior on SmackDown, earning him the opportunity to go for the gold. Ziggler and Barrett had never gone one-on-one prior to this past June, so it was both a fresh and exciting match. Fans didn't know what to expect from the two when they finally clashed, but little did they know they were in for an instant classic. Only six days before they were set to do battle in a Money in the Bank Ladder match, Barrett and Ziggler took each other to their absolute limits. There was a never a dull moment throughout the bout and they had the crowd on the edge of their seats the entire time. After several suspenseful near-falls, Barrett nailed the Bull Hammer elbow out of nowhere for the victory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILiSRaxtT6E Here's hoping this isn't the last we see of them in the ring together when Barrett returns from injury.
