10 Most Underrated WWE PPV Main Events Of The 2000s
7. Randy Orton Vs. Ric Flair - Cage Match (Taboo Tuesday 2004)
Taboo Tuesday was certainly a novel concept. Not only did it take place on Tuesday and not the traditional Sunday night, but it was also the first interactive WWE PPV. Fans could vote for match stipulations, opponents and so forth. The event also saw a rare pay-per-view main event from 'The Nature Boy', Ric Flair. Flair began a mini feud with Orton after Orton's ill-suited face turn in September 2004. He cost Orton a shot at Triple H's World Heavyweight Championship and intimated that, until he could beat him, Orton couldn't consider himself a true 'legend killer'. Fans had the choice of voting for either a falls count anywhere, submission or steel cage match. They chose a cage match (like there was ever any doubt), a Flair speciality form the NWA days. He paid homage to the NWA days through the match and both men bled. It was a great old-school type match and did a lot of rebuild Orton after the Triple H series the month before. After the match both competitors shared a handshake, which many assumed would lead to a Flair face turn (it didn't). Flair would better himself a year later in a cage match with Triple H at the 2005 incarnation of Taboo Tuesday. That match should have really went on last, too.
