10 Most Underrated WWE Promos From The Last Decade

8. "Undashing" Cody Rhodes

Sigh. It's not until you see Cody Rhodes making hissing noises while dressed up as a rejected Marvel villain that you truly appreciate just how much fun Rhodes' protective mask gimmick was... Following an injury obtained by way of a Rey Mysterio 619, Rhodes accused the luchador of intentionally trying to damage his beautiful face and began adopting a much darker demeanour, a complete 180 from the 'Dashing' superstar that had shared grooming tips with WWE fans each week. In order to make things right between Cody and Mysterio, the late great Dusty Rhodes tried to talk some sense into his 'bebeh boy', who still remained immaculately dressed despite being a fully-fledged loony by this point. Cody apologised to his father, apologised to Mysterio, the pair shook hands and then Mysterio and Dusty shook hands. Great, we€™re all happy now, yes? The beef was squashed for a good five seconds before Dusty spread an unfamiliar menacing grin across his face, gripped Mysterio's hand and allowed Cody to deliver a beating to Rey on the outside of the ring, setting up a WrestleMania XXVII meeting between the duo in the process. Four months after WrestleMania, Rhodes captured the Intercontinental Championship, his first singles title in WWE. He got there because of sterling promo work like this; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pbfUois5xU

Overly-opinionated Australian WWE smark who is definitely not #booty. Slowly angering the IWC one article at a time. We will probably strongly dislike each other - let's be friends! @MattKMarsden
