The Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio feud of 2005 may very well have been the best feud WWE had in one of the biggest years for the company. Their face vs. face match at WrestleMania, the ladder match over the custody of Dominic at SummerSlam, and the feud-ending steel cage match are three of the most notable matches in the feud.

However, the best match of the entire rivalry may very well have been the one most forgotten.

It took place on the June 23, 2005 edition of Smackdown, lasted nearly 30 minutes, and was incredibly back-and-forth and intense between the two. Eddie really sold the desperation of never being able to defeat Rey, and it seemed likely that Eddie was finally going to win.

Still though, Rey managed to pick up the victory and live to fight another day.

The frustration over the loss to Rey was what spurned Eddie's "secret", which led to the custody of Dominic storyline throughout the Summer of 2005. But it was this gem of a match which started it all.
