Any storyline that culminates with maggots and dolls' heads is going to leave a sour taste, but this one felt particularly unsatisfying.

True, Randy Orton betraying his brethren for a shot at WWE Title gold was an inevitability, but the way in which he did it - burning down Bray's compound - came off awfully cartoonish.

Their WrestleMania encounter later that month was a damp squib, hurt both by its placement on the card - Orton, the Royal Rumble winner, not getting his chance in the main event - and the impotent black magic tricks the #Eater of Worlds' employed to such devastatingly tame effect.

At the following pay-per-view, Payback, Wyatt managed to even the scales inside his House of Horrors, but it was a non-title match, making it a Pyrrhic victory at best.
