Kane: 2 (1996 and 2005)

Though number 30 is the optimal number from a logical perspective, if the omens are anything to go by then it’s the number 27 spot in which you really want to enter.

27 has produced four winners over the years—well, three winners (Big John Studd, Yokozuna, and Stone Cold Steve Austin) and a co-winner (Bret Hart)—which is more than any other spot. For Kane, though, the number hasn’t necessarily been such a good luck charm; he is in fact the only participant to have entered and failed in the number 27 spot on two separate occasions, first in 1996 and again 2005.

Admittedly that first instance came under his earlier Isaac Yankem gimmick, so if you were feeling generous I suppose you could spare Kane’s blushes on this one.

But we’re not, so we won’t. Besides, the fact that he also holds the record for the most eliminations in the history of the Rumble is presumably an adequate consolation prize.
