10 Movies About Wrestling We Actually Want To See

8. The Rise And Fall Of Hulk Hogan

Few wrestling careers have peaked and troughed as wildly as Hulk Hogan’s. From movie stardom, WWF glory days and red-hot nWo runs, to sex-tape scandals, steroid trouble, a failed TNA takeover and a highly publicised racist tirade, opinions on the Hulkster vary greatly depending on who you talk to.

That’s what makes his story so viable for adaptation; Terry Bollea’s life has been so turbulent, you almost couldn’t make it up. It’d no doubt make for controversial viewing, and after Hulk Hogan successfully sued Gawker for $31 million due to their publishing of his sex tape, it’s highly unlikely a director or studio would be willing to tackle the Hulkster’s story head on. That’s a shame though; Hogan’s backstage politicking alone could be spun into a feature length film, and the media circus surrounding his recent fall from grace has reopened old debates about celebrity privacy and journalistic integrity.

One thing’s for sure, a lot of people would pay good money to see a current day Hollywood star trying to pull off Hulk Hogan’s signature voice and affect. What’s Michael Keaton up to these days?
