10. Hulk Hogan
In the mid 1980's, Hulk Hogan enjoyed an unprecedented wave of global popularity. He was well and truly loved by the fans. You could even make the argument that he was the most over pro wrestler of all time, especially when you look at the business WWF did off of his act. Indeed, the whole pro wrestling industry as we know it was built off of Hulk Hogan's popularity. Yet Hogan eventually ended up being one of the most despised pro wrestlers ever. Even in the early 90's, some fans had already started turning on him. They saw him for what he really was, a basic in-ring talent who was all about the money. That became even more obvious in the mid 90's, to the point that his face act was really very stale in WCW. That's partly why they turned him heel and lodged him into the NWO faction. To this day, Hogan still has those who despise him. As kids, fans adored him, but they grew up to learn about a manipulative and calculated operator with a really nasty side to him.
