10 New Directions After Last Night’s AEW Dynamite

AEW and Tony Khan changed EVERYTHING on a fiery post-All Out edition of Dynamite.

Well, f*cking hell.

All Out ended with CM Punk triumphantly holding the AEW World Title for a second time and the bold return of MJF. Then, Punk's post-PPV media comments totally overshadowed Friedman's comeback and forced Tony Khan to suspend a string of top stars heading into this week's episode of Dynamite.

It's easy to imagine that everybody, including All Elite's biggest detractors, had both eyes squarely trained on Wednesday night. There, Khan decided to change pretty much everything - he stripped Punk of the World Title then did the same for The Elite and the brand new Trios belts.

This week's flagship was a newsworthy one then. It chewed up and spat out several of the new directions All Out seemed to set in stone, and AEW now rolls on to its big 'Grand Slam' special in New York a fortnight from now. That's when the World Title tourney will end, but other titles could change hands too.

AEW is a complete hoot at the moment, chiefly because all this backstage drama has captured everyone's imaginations. Here's where the company is headed post-Dynamite. Y'know, until they change it again on Rampage.

World Championship Whims.

10. The End Of Dark Order?

Andrade El Idolo is pursuing 10, and the Dark Order's biggest member seems rather interested to find out what life would be like when running "tranquilo". That, obviously, will p*ss on the chips of other Order lads like John Silver, Alex Reynolds and Evil Uno.

Who cares? The group is pretty much useless at this point anyway.

Silver and Reynolds would be far better off on their own as a straight-up, workmanlike tag-team without the Order distraction. Honestly, who knows what Uno would be doing? AEW can't keep this gimmick (one which has changed so much) around just because of that though.

It's time for 10 to try on something new. If that means becoming Andrade's new heavy, then so be it. If All Elite's creative forces want to, they can always book a mini-feud with Silver/Reynolds to put a bow on the Dark Order story before moving everyone on to much-needed new beginnings.
